career management capstone For all students graduating with a bachelor's degree, Career Management Capstone provides prospective graduates with a focus on reviewing specific employer competencies and developing targeted portfolio entries. Students learn candidate recruitment and selection processes, including the impact of pre-employment tests and background checks, credit ratings, and drug tests that take place during the selection process. Through a process of needs assessment, students select suitable employment tracks for their job search.

Other topics include financial responsibility, life planning and career management, development of job search tools (resume paper and electronic, cover letters, and portfolios), and identification of job search strategies. The On-Campus Recruiting (OCR) Program, independent job search strategies and Internet job recruiting programs are used to access a wide variety of job opportunities.

career planning is for students graduating with an associate degree. Career Planning provides second year students the opportunity to assess their progress made with developing their Career Passport System and to identify further experiences needed to meet their employer's requirements. Students gain valuable insight into the validated competencies from academics, community service, and experiential learning. Students will also learn how to use employer feedback on their performance to set new goals for self-improvement, which will assist them in planning their career focused academic scheduling plan.

Financial management opportunities for continuing education and senior level cooperative education opportunities are discussed as factors in assessing one's career plan. For students graduating with an A.S. degree, Career Planning prepares them for the employment process.
