JWU Golf Takes Sixth At Jack Barry Invitational
April 26, 2008

Stow, Mass. – The Johnson & Wales University golf team notched a sixth place finish at the Jack Barry Invitational, hosted by MIT at the Stow Acres Country Club on Saturday afternoon.  Johnson & Wales (RI) shot a 324 over the par-72 course while Johnson & Wales (FL) took first place with a 301 on the afternoon.

Junior Bobby Newcomb (Quincy, Mass.) paced Johnson & Wales (RI), tying for seventh with a 75.  Freshman Steve LeDonne (Rehoboth, Mass.) shot an 81, good for a 22nd-place finish while junior Dustin Bride (Manchester, Conn.) shot an 82 which put him tied for 23rd.  Freshman Ryan Myers (Foxboro, Mass.) rounded out the scorers for JWU, tying for 34th with a score of 86.

JWU Golf Captures Wildcat Spring Invitational
April 25, 2008

East Providence, R.I. – The Johnson & Wales University golf team captured the 2008 JWU Wildcat Spring Invitational at the Metacomet Country Club on Friday afternoon.  The Wildcats finished with a team total of 305 while Worcester State took second place with a 308.  Medalist honors went to Worcester State’s Nick Lombardi who shot a two over 72 at the Par 70 course.

Freshman Steve LeDonne (Foxboro, Mass.) led the way for Johnson & Wales, finishing fourth with a 75.  Junior Dustin Bride (Manchester, Conn.) and sophomore Chad Raymond (Nashua, N.H.) were tied for sixth place with a 76 on the afternoon.  Freshman Ryan Myers (Foxboro, Mass.) rounded out the scorers for JWU, placing 11th with a score of 78.

The Wildcats will wrap up their spring season on Saturday, April 26th when they travel to the Jack Barry Invitational.

JWU Golf Places Fourth At Sterling Invitational
April 22, 2008

Sterling, Mass. -- The Johnson & Wales University golf team notched a fourth-place finish at the Sterling Invitational, hosted by Worcester State at the Sterling National Country Club on Tuesday afternoon.  The Wildcats finished with a team score of 324 while Nichols captured the team title with a 313 over the par 71 course.

Freshman Ryan Myers (Foxboro, Mass.) paced Johnson & Wales with a 77, good for a third place finish.  Junior Dustin Bride (Manchester, Conn.) tied for eighth with a 79 while junior Bobby Newcomb (Quincy, Mass.) was 18th with an 81 on the afternoon.  Freshman Steve LeDonne (Rehoboth, Mass.) rounded out the scorers for the Wildcats, shooting an 87 which was good for a 41st place finish

The Wildcats will return to action on Friday, April 25th when they host the JWU Spring Invitational at Metacomet Country Club in East Providence, R.I.

JWU Golf Takes First At Rhode Island College Quad Match
April 18, 2008

Providence, R.I. -- The Johnson & Wales University golf team notched a first-place finish at the Rhode Island College Quad Match at Triggs Memorial Golf Club on Friday afternoon.  The Wildcats finished with a team score of 331 while host Rhode Island College was second with a score of 333.

Freshman Steve LeDonne (Rehoboth, Mass.), junior Bobby Newcomb (Quincy, Mass.) and junior Dustin Bride (Manchester, Conn.) tied for second with scores of 81.  Freshman Ryan Myers (Foxboro, Mass.) rounded out the scorers for JWU, placing seventh with an 88.

The Wildcats will return to action on Tuesday, April 22nd when they travel to the Worcester State Invitational.

JWU Golf Ties For Third At Hampton Inn Collegiate Invitational
April 13, 2008

North Dartmouth, Mass. -- The Johnson & Wales University golf team tied for third at the Hampton Inn Collegiate Invitational, hosted by UMass Dartmouth at the Allendale Country Club on Sunday afternoon. The Wildcats shot a 321 and tied with Babson while host UMass Dartmouth took the team title with a 318 for the one round event.

Freshman Steve LeDonne (Rehoboth, Mass.) was the Wildcats top finisher, shooting a six over par 78 for a sixth place finish.  Junior Dustin Bride (Manchester, Conn.) placed ninth with a score of 79 while junior Robert Newcomb (Quincy, Mass.) was eighth with an 80 on the day.  Freshman Ryan Myers (Foxboro, Mass.) rounded out the scorers for JWU, placing 29th with an 84.

The Wildcats will return to action on Friday, April 18th when they travel to Rhode Island College.

JWU Golf Takes Third At Nichols Quad
April 11, 2008

Dudley, Mass. -- The Johnson & Wales University golf team placed third at the Nichols Quad Match on Friday afternoon at the Dudley Hills Golf Club.  The Wildcats finished with a team score of 319 with host Nichols taking first place with a 315.  Junior Robert Newcomb (Quincy, Mass.) earned medalist honors for JWU, finishing first with a score of 76.

Junior Jason Rouslin (North Kingstown, R.I.) was fifth with a 78 while sophomore Chad Raymond (Nashua, N.H.) was tied for ninth with an 80.  Junior Nick D’Angelo (Rutland, Mass.) rounded out the JWU scorers, finishing tied for 13th with an 85.

The Wildcats will return to action on Saturday-Sunday April 12-13 when they travel to the UMass Dartmouth Invitational.

JWU Golf Takes Eighth At Babson Invitational
April 7, 2008

Plymouth, Mass -- The Johnson & Wales University golf team notched an eighth place finish at the Babson Invitational at the Atlantic Country Club on Sunday and Monday.  The Wildcats finished with a two round total of 676.  Salem State took first place with a score of 631 at the event.

Johnson & Wales senior Dustin Bride (Manchester, Conn.) paced the Wildcats with a 166 (84-82) while Ryan Myers (Foxboro, Mass.) shot a 168 (83-85) for the two round event.  Junior Robert Newcomb (Quincy, Mass.) recorded a score of 172 (90-82) with freshman Steve LeDonne (Reboboth, Mass.) rounding out the JWU scorers with a 175 (87-88).

The Wildcats will return to action on Saturday-Sunday April 12-13 when they travel to the UMass Dartmouth Invitational.
