When do I receive my housing assignment? All students who have paid a $300.00 deposit and signed a housing contract will receive a placement. Assignments are completed for the fall term during the summer months. Off-term assignments will be completed before your arrival.
Can I pick my own roommate? Yes, it is possible to specify with whom you would like to live. You and your friend must each request to room together on your housing request forms. These requests can only be honored if both students have paid their $300.00 reservation deposits and if there is space available to meet the specific request.
Do I bring my own bed linens and towels? Yes, the beds are extra-long twin size beds (unfitted regular twin sheets will fit). Also bring a pillow, desk lamp, and clothes hangers. Please limit what you bring until you see the size of the room.
What kind of clothes should I bring? Closet and drawer space is limited, so you should bring seasonal clothing. You will find that most students dress casually.
Where can I wash my clothes? Each residence hall has a laundry facility located within the building.
Can I have an overnight guest? Yes, a student may sponsor an overnight guest. However, overnight guests are not permitted in the residence halls on school nights (i.e. nights when classes will be held). All visitors must present a valid picture I.D.
Is there a curfew? There is no curfew, but students must respect "Quiet Hours" which are from 10pm-8am, weekdays and 12am-8am, weekends and must be signed in and out in the visitor's log at the residence hall front desk.
What is the University's policy regarding alcohol on campus? Alcohol and other drugs are prohibited on campus, regardless of your drinking age. Please note the legal drinking age in Florida is 21.
May I have a pet in my room? The University does not allow any pets (including fish) in the residence hall.
When does the residence hall close during the academic year? Holiday break in December/January is the only time the residence halls are officially closed. All residents will have to vacate the premises until twenty-four hours before the next school day after break.
Students are required to vacate their rooms within 24 hours of their last exam and remove all of their belongings when leaving campus for the summer or within 48hrs of the termination of their student status. The University does NOT store students belongings. Anything left behind will be considered abandon and discarded.
