Providence Campus Selected as One of Kaplan’s
Cutting-Edge Schools Tied to Hottest Career Choices

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – August 13, 2007 – The Providence campus has been selected as one of the 25 cutting-edge schools tied to hottest career choices by Kaplan Publishing, one of the nation’s leading publishers of academic and professional development resources.

The University joins such schools as Simmons College in Boston, George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor on the list of Kaplan’s 25 specially selected schools. The Kaplan guide – "You Are Here: Over 380 Colleges and Unlimited Paths to Your Future," provides job facts and industry statistics for high school students and their parents to consider when choosing the right school to fit their interests and majors.

The Kaplan guide, which was published this month, had this so say* about the University: "One of the goals at Johnson &Wales (J&W), which has its main campus in Providence, Rhode Island, is to graduate students who are ready to start a career. Students at J&W don’t waffle for years deciding on a major, they start taking courses in their major the first day."
