Marc Summers Unwraps the Behind-the-Scenes PROVIDENCE, R.I. — April 3, 2007 — The John Hazen White School of Arts & Sciences' Cultural Life Calendar features Marc Summers, host of Food Network's "Unwrapped" and "The Next Food Network Star." He'll provide a candid look at what goes on behind-the-scenes at one of the nation's most popular networks on Tuesday, April 10, at 9:20 a.m. when he presents "Life at the Food Network." The presentation will be held in the Pepsi Forum located at Plantations Hall, 8 Abbott Park Place, Providence, R.I. There is limited seating available to the public. His career spans more than two decades. Prior to Food Network, he hosted and produced Nickelodeon's "Double Dare" and "What Would You Do?" In addition, he doubled as correspondent and guest host of ABC's "Home Show," covering human interest and hard news stories. Summers book, Everything in its Place illuminates his experience with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), a disease he discovered he had while interviewing an OCD expert on national television. Although for many people OCD is a debilitating condition, Summers has found ways to channel his into a high-powered career. He is active now in building awareness of the disease and serves as spokesperson for the Obsessive Compulsive Foundation.
