North Miami Campus Names Dean of Students
Monreal has been with the university for more than seven years, previously serving as director of student affairs. As dean of students, Monreal will continue to oversee student conduct, parent relations, residential life, safety & security, student activities, international student affairs, athletics and health services for the more than 2,000 students at the North Miami Campus. In addition to her job commitments, Monreal is involved in the United Way of Miami Dade’s Young Leadership Circle, the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce Higher Education Committee, Miami Dade County Schools’ Health and Wellness committee and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators. Monreal earned an associate degree in arts from Miami Dade College, a bachelor’s degree in English from Florida International University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix. Monreal was born in Cuba and resides in Miami Lakes, Fla. Johnson & Wales University, founded in 1914, is a nonprofit, private institution.
