Charlotte Campus Introduces CHARLOTTE, N.C. – February 6, 2008 – Your son or daughter can now learn skills that will help your aspiring chef from the kitchen to the dining room table. The Charlotte Campus is offering Kids Chef’s Choice® Classes for ages 8-12 and 12-16. Chef’s Choice is an innovative program of hands-on cooking classes taught by professional chef instructors. These classes, taught in Johnson & Wales' state of the art facility, are open to the public. Your child will learn everything from basic measurement skills to dining etiquette. The classes will be held on Saturdays, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The cost of the class is $140. For the first time, JWU’s Charlotte Campus is offering kids camps in our state-of-the-art kitchens: basic culinary skills and baking and pastry skills classes. -Culinary Basics: From basic knife skills and stock, soups and sauces, to grilling, roasting and baking, children will get first hand experience into the world of culinary arts. -Introduction to Baking & Pastry: Children will be introduced to the bake shop and learn to make breads and rolls, pastries, cookies, ice cream and more! The week-long camp will be held June 23-27, from 9 a.m.-noon. Children ages 8-12 and 12-16 are welcome to sign-up. The cost is $500. More details will be posted on our website in the near future.
