Denver Campus Announces New Dean of Academic Affairs DENVER – July 7, 2008 – Johnson & Wales University is pleased to announce that Richard Wiscott. Ph.D., has been named dean of Academic Affairs, and will assume his new post for the Denver Campus effective July 28, 2008. He will be responsible for ensuring that the Denver Campus upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and excellence. Wiscott comes to Johnson & Wales University from the East Liverpool Campus of Kent State University where he served as assistant dean to provide all academic and day-to-day operations guidance. He will bring his considerable background in higher education experience with him, which ranges from faculty member, administrator, program director and grant writer. He has served other higher education institutions such as Youngstown State University, Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania and The University of Akron.Wiscott received his Ph.D. from The University of Akron and received his undergraduate degree from Youngstown State University. As a published author and lecturer on a wide array of topics, Wiscott intends to continue to explore student retention models, to research psychosocial factors of older adult substance abusers in treatment, and to examine the impact of ageism on professional development for students and workers.
