Students pursuing a doctorate in education may choose between two strands:
Leadership in Elementary/Secondary Schools or Leadership in Higher Education.
A cohort model is used, and students complete their coursework in two
years after which they research, write and defend their dissertations.
Students are encouraged to draw on their work experiences as the foundation for learning. Through Directed Studies, students are able to personalize their learning program. The ELP is career-focused, dynamic, and rigorous.
Students enrolled in the doctoral program attend classes on weekends following a semester schedule.

All program requirements must be completed within six years. Students who do not complete the dissertation in the prescribed time will be automatically scheduled for EDUC9011, Dissertation Advisement Continuation. This continuation requires a Dissertation Advisement Fee of $1,155 per semester.
