The Outstanding Student Leader of the Year competition is hosted by the Denver Campus Admissions Office and the Community Leadership Institute yearly. Now in its third year, this competition pairs ten top high school community leaders of today and tomorrow with the top community leaders in Denver as judges for a weekend of tough competition on real leadership challenges.
The contest starts with an essay portion which a panel of judges reviews to narrow the field to 10 top finalists. The finalists will be chosen to participate in the competition finals to be held at the Denver Campus during the weekend of March 7–9, 2008. During the weekend competition, students will compete in personal interviews, case study presentations and a team leadership challenge.
Winners of this competition will receive scholarships to Johnson & Wales University. Scholarships range from $2,500–$13,000 and are renewable for up to four years of full-time, day-school study only at the Denver Campus.
