charlotte campus

Congratulations on your decision to attend
Johnson & Wales University Charlotte!

We look forward to having you become an active member of the university community.  You may find that you have many unanswered questions or curiosities about this new chapter in your life.  It is for this reason that all new students will attend a New Student Orientation (NSO) session this summer.  Each NSO session provides an introduction to our campus, the resources available, what you can expect from your JWU experience, and the people who are eagerly awaiting your arrival!

There are 7 sessions for you to choose from and 1 additional session specifically for Garnish Your Degree students.  Attendance is mandatory for all incoming students – please be sure to register early to obtain your first session choice! The number of students at each session is limited so you can meet in small groups and have your questions answered. Beginning April 30, 2008, you can register online to reserve your place.  Registration will close two weeks prior to each session.

Parents and guardians - I encourage you to attend NSO as well. You will have the opportunity to learn about important information and resources, as well as meet the people who will be a part of your student’s college experience.  Please note that we do not believe siblings and young children would enjoy our program. If you have children who need to be supervised by a parent or guardian, I would recommend that one parent/guardian attend NSO while another adult remains at home.

Students - during your NSO session, you will meet with representatives in your chosen school or college, take academic placement exams (which will enable us to register you for appropriate level courses), learn about campus resources, network with student leaders and make new friends. It will be a busy two days, but you will walk away with a clearer perspective of university life.

The student orientation leaders, staff members, and academic representatives at JWU Charlotte have been planning fun and informative sessions just for you.  We look forward to meeting you this summer!

Sincerely,

Kendra Miller
Coordinator of New Student & Parent Programs
