orientation dates

Please review the schedule of sessions below and choose the session that best fits you.  Remember that there is a limit to the amount of students who can attend each session, so be sure to register early to secure your preferred date!

H This date includes programming specific to students who have been accepted into the honors program.  If you have been accepted into this program, you are encouraged to attend this session.
T These dates include programming specific to transfer students.
I This date includes programming specific to international students.
G This session is for Garnish Your Degree students only.
* This session is only offered for students who live more than 300 miles from campus.  Residential students who attend this session will move directly into their residence hall room on September 2.  Commuting students will not be provided overnight accommodations during this session.

International Students International students should attend the final New Student Orientation session September 3-4, 2008.  There will be programming specific to international students during this session.  International students who will be living on campus will be able to move directly into their assigned space prior to this session.

Honor Students The Honors Program offers academically talented students the opportunity to explore challenging and stimulating courses. All students who have been accepted into the JWU Honors Program are urged to attend Session 3 (July 24-25), as there will be programming geared specifically towards the Honors Program during this session.  Please indicate that you are an Honors Program student on your registration.  If you are unable to attend Session 3, you may attend any other session.

Transfer Students Transfer students constitute an integral part of the total student body at Johnson & Wales University.  They bring a diversity of educational backgrounds that enrich and strengthen the overall academic experience for all students. If you are a transfer student, you are encouraged to attend either Session 2 (July 21-22) or Session 5 (July 31-Aug.1).  There will be programming geared specifically towards transfer students which will cover topics such as official transcripts and transfer
