The world today is increasingly more technical and complex. Numeracy is as important as literacy for students who want a successful career or who want to understand some of the new issues that confront us every day. Read more.

Mathematics courses cover topics that range from those fundamental for everyday living, through those necessary for analyzing information and data, to those that control the technology we depend on for the future.

Our faculty have many years of teaching experience and are all committed to affording students a chance to succeed in mathematics. In addition, some faculty also have experience outside of education and have used mathematics as a tool for operating a business and creating technologically advanced systems.

math awareness month Each April the Providence Campus sponsors math awareness month. The activities culminate with a student math contest administered by Professor Mark Duston.
